poem, any thoughts?

My Gray Mohawk

I love having lots of gray hairs
In my Mohawk
And I like the memories
My tattoos take me on
Leaving it all behind for seconds

Do not be alarmed
Be terrified
The sky is falling
I have a deal with ACME
And
It is truly us desperate people
Who really have nothing to lose
That are the most dangerous.

Remember that

And all my friends have kids
But I’m not a breeder
I’d like to adopt
But
I’d rather fuck up a child at all.

Instead, I give my friends a few hours off
When I can
And play like I’m in fucking Never Never land
A kid for me would be a better excuse
For buying toys.

My hair looks ace
I could be holding anything
Behind my back.

a new poem for the nigga’s in my family tree

Posted by Debbie in poetry

Clean me

I had to fall down
To get to my glory
The light

And when I walk into a room
Everyone watches my ass
I should use it for guerilla literature welfare
/Long Term plan

Don’t even try to compete
With the screaming
I really like it when you squirm
It turns me on
To call your ass out
Without missing a beat

I rub in the filth and slime
I fully accept it
And
He said he’d never seen anyone so beautiful
And sad
All at once

There is no spaceship nor deity
When the shit hits the fan
And lately
I’ve been thinking of turning to prostitution
Hell, I’m already damaged goods
If that could translate into some mad cold cash
I have a feeling my need to self destruct
Will pass

Jennifer Blowdryer and MK Chavez reading the 21st!

Posted by Debbie in Debbie's Blog

Jennifer and MK will be reading in SF at Dog Eared Books.  Reading starts at 8:00.  We are taking our crew, would love everyone to come out and support Jennifer!  My chapbooks are almost totally gone! It seemed like a good thing at first, but now more people are wanting to buy them!  You cant expect various upcoming reviews in Cherry Bleeds and other places, I will let you know when they are up.    My friend Brad just left and it was so good to see him and hang out with him. I’ll post pictures soon.  It’s amazing how you don’t miss people who were never your friends in the first place. Things going great here. I hate my country but love my city. Got new poesy to post soon, but right now I gotta clean up from the various gypsies that came thru all last week and thru the weekend.

Oh, Elvis!

Posted by Debbie in Debbie's Blog

Today was a really shitty day

in retrospect it wasnt really the things that happened today rather my reaction to them.  And my phone is dead but I don’t care cause I have 30 dollars in food stamps and if my car is not repoed I will see you at the thing bro.

I’m allergic but too attached to my new kitten’s dander.  Covered in rashes, very very sexy. Sets off my asthma as well.  But I’m really attached to him and Dave is Really attached to him. (Plus he’s barely here so it dosent get him as bad)  and there was arguing about money and petty lies.  Throwing words at each other like Ninja stars.  And it was a nice release.

Afterward, I turned on the television and a documentary of Elvis was on.  We talked about how American he was, how tragic, and how Elvis’ life is in direct correlation with the de evoloution of America.  But at the same time I don’t care that sweat and leather smell like balls.  And I look into his blue eyes and I want to fuck the shit out of him.  I have a friend who makes him a birthday cake every year.  And then we talked about how we made him crazy.  Made him a superstar, gave him everything he ever wanted.  When you have that, you tend to turn to self destruction.  He was the first Kurt Cobain.  But yes, he was so American and lots of Republicans have Black Velvet paintings of him in their crapper.

I just wish as a nation, we’d learn from our mistakes.  And sometimes during the documetary I pretended I was watching Andy Kauffman.  I still think fame is like heroin.

now im craving apple pies but i will never hang a flag.

Sometimes being scape-goated is the BEST thing that could happen to you.

Little Frankenstein Girl

Posted by Debbie in poetry

Little Frankenstein girl

Little Frankenstein girl
has the hands of a pianist
And the heart of a broken organ
With thorns, glass
Bats and Indian ink
Seeping thro…
Sewn together
Crookedly stitched
Like a pastel valentine heart
Filled with mismatched parts

Little Frankenstein girl
Has the right brain of a killer
Her right hand is dominant
While her left foot always faces away
Wanting to disconnect
To run
To be free

To not be part of this
Fucked up experiment
Dreamt up by
A genius dressed in rags
And chased by demons
The kind that really scratch and bite
When you are fast asleep

Little Frankenstein girl
Is not a little girl anymore
The curls in her hair
Dreaded up in the sun
Medusa in the wind

Her loud strong voice
Muffled under the stitches
That firmly binds her lips together
Bondage bringing pleasure
Only to those who wish
To keep her silent
(and they are many)

The little Frankenstein girl
Can’t count the stitches on her wrists
From all of those nights
With her right hand doing
What her left foot
Wanted to walk away from
And her not understanding
That she was never really alive
In the first place

Little Frankenstein girl
All mixed up
And
Mix matched
Returning every evening
With fresh wounds to be sewn
From another vain attempt
To be mortal for just a few seconds
Before the fall

Little Frankenstein girl
Stolen parts
Come with stolen lies
Maggots and flies.
The gravedigger, looking to make a buck
Steals her a kiss
The moistness quenches her lips
He promises more kisses tomorrow
She scurries home
Knowing full well
She’s damned to a life of stolen kisses
And malfunctioning hearts
that spit in the moonlight.
